New York New York Big City of Dreams

I know you all have been waiting on pins and needles for me to post something about my trip to New York. Well, here is something for ya!

JetBlue is the bomb diggity yo! (as long as they leave on-time) I felt as if I was in my red room chillin because the seats were pretty roomy and the televisions with cable in front of me. I kinda embarrassed myself cause I was watching Harlem Nights and pretty much reciting the scene between Cora and Quick in the alley. I was louder than I thought. Downside was that I got this Ipod thinking I was finally going to get the chance to use it for the intended purposes, but got caught up in TBS instead. The Ipod was great for the subway train rides into Canal Street.

I kinda got jipped though, I didn't get to see any of the street performers that I read about on other blogs, or anyone selling individual garbage bags, or people just hustling.

We got to Canal St early Saturday morning and as soon as we stepped of the subway the people were trying to get me to come to their shops for their "designer" handbags. Okay, me and the crew followed the man to the storefront and I found myself in a closet. When I looked behind me no one was there! My sister later told me that the Asian man was communicating with the lady inside the closet with me about the number of people that were coming back there. They wouldn't let me get out, but my sister told me that my neice said, "I can't leave Aunt Sheletha back there by herself!" Told ya she was my potna in crime. Anyway, I ended up walking out with my fake Coach's , Gucci's & Channel. They tried to get me for my money until I told them, "Hey, the Gucci imprint is crooked on the wallet!" "ok, ok we give you for $25."

The Color Purple was fantastic, but people get on my nerves!!! Fantasia didn't show up and for some reason I figured that would happen. All day I had been in a whatever mode, I travelled to see a Broadway show and if Fanny wasn't going to be there I still wanted to see a show! Besides, Oprah wasn't going to let some fa-dup-a-dupe be in her show. The people around me were just blown away about the announcement getting all mad at the people selling t-shirts, it was unreal. I was like dude go get your money back then! Otherwise STFU! The lady behind me was complaining that it was too cold, upset at the usher chic all about it. Yes, it was cold but I have never been to a theater perfomance where it wasn't cold. I think its better for the voices, plus ole girl had a man for Blizzard Booty so again I say STFU!

After the show we walked along Broadway and came to Diddys HQ. There was a cutie standing at the door talking on his phone as we walked along. I mouthed the words: CAN WE COME IN? it was just like I said, Open Sesame because he opened the door to let us in. We stood in the vestibule, chit chatted and took some more pictures. I absentmindly spoke that I didn't like Diddy in response to what something my neice had said. When I got my mind back and realized I was standing inside Diddy's real estate I knew that wasn't the smartest thing to admit. I looked for cutie that was at the door and relieved that he didn't hear me. Luckily, Diddy was somewhere on the other side of the U.S. getting arrested for slapping a bitch up.

This has to be continued...my time with Dee has got to be a blog by itself.

lol @ the Gucci imprint being crooked

I would love to see The Color Purple stage. I'm also wondering what happens when Fantasia doesn't show up? I would think most people coming to see the show would be upset.

@CAP gurl...just wait until part deux!

@ Marcus...there were still some things on my list that I didn't get a chance to do. So I know I will be back!

@don...When Fanny doesn't show up there is an understudy. The people that were that upset should get their money back and try again later. They were fuggin' up my high.

@lance...BUSTER!

@kiki...the stand in was great! her voice wasn't as powerful, but she was believable.

Glad you enjoyed yourself. Did your niece get to hail a cab like she wanted?

Sheletha said...

@Shai...not intentionally. We were standing at the curb and one just stopped in front of us. I asked her "Did you do that?" She told me no, and a couple behind us actually hailed and got the cab.
